Early Years

Homegrown baking

Fabulous, engaged children using own homegrown gooseberries to make gooseberry pie. Lots of messy, fun learning – just how we like it in early years!

The rain doesn’t stop Early Years

We saw a huge change in weather after all the recent sunshine we have had. The rain didn’t stop the children in Early Years having fun though. They went on a puddle hunt to try and find the biggest puddles to jump in. The children decided to make cars out of crates and worked together, pulling each other around an obstacle course they made.

To help the children understand the weather and their environment, they need to be in it.Elizabeth Jarman, 2014

Puppet Show!

Following on from our literacy focus on making stories, this child decided to make his own story using our puppets. He was so excited, he asked for us to record it on the Ipad – so we did. It is so amazing, we thought we’d share it with you!

Experimenting with circuits

Some children in early years were experimenting with circuits this week.

They showed great teamwork, concentration and problem solving whilst learning about the different parts and functions of a simple circuit.
