Forest school today provided a rich learning experience for one boy. A worm was discovered, carefully picked up and cared for, for most of our morning outside.
A slug was found too! Endless open ended play outdoors!! Perfect!!

The children have loved our new woodwork area. They have been super creative with their models. So far, we’ve had dinosaurs, helicopters, aeroplanes and even a duck!
We will also have a flash read at 9.00 in both halls. Every child and adult will bring their reading book into the hall and read silently together. If parents and carers would like join us with their own books we would love to see them.
Early Years will have a “stay and read” session in their setting.
Key Stage One will meet in the lower hall.
Key Stage Two will meet in the upper hall.
We look forward to seeing you!Dani Rees, Deputy Headteacher
Children in Early Years love taking their learning into the forest. This week, some children made human scales to see who was heaviest, whilst others focused their attention on creating a scarecrow to keep the birds away from our mud mountains.
We have had great fun celebrating Chinese New Year by cooking vegetable rice and making lucky red envelopes!
The children in Early Years saw the snow as a great opportunity to experiment with mark making.
They really enjoyed using sticks, carrots and their fingers to make marks in the snow.
What a busy start to our spring term in early years! So far we have spent time sharing our favourite stories and poems, talked about our adventures over the Christmas holidays and read our replies to our letters we sent…
