Marathon Fundraising Total So Far!

Click to go to our fundraiser on the JustGiving site!

Wow! So far, the Star Wars marathon has raised over £1000 – more than double our target!

On May 4th pupils came into school dressed in sportswear and trainers… ready to run, to raise funds to support the British Red Cross. The Red Cross are doing vital work and providing essential supplies to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine and the school council decided they would like for us to support this effort.

Thank you to all the Fishergate community who have generously donated so far. If you would like to make a donation, you can still do so – just click on the picture to go straight to our fundraising page. You can also help by sharing this page with your friends and family!

Well done to Mrs Clarke, and all our amazing children!

May the Fourth be With You, everyone!

May the Fourth be With You…

…Star Wars Charity Marathon Day is back!

On May 4th all pupils will be asked to come into school dressed in PE clothes (or sportswear) and trainers… ready to run. This year we will be raising money for the British Red Cross and we ask that all donations are made via this JUST GIVING LINK.

The Red Cross are doing vital work and providing essential supplies to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine and the school council would like for us to support this effort.

Throughout the day classes will go out onto the school field to run a mile with Mrs Clarke. This year we would like to invite parents, carers, family members and friends to come along and support their child’s class or even to run with them!

An update from the Rocking Horse Club

Dear parents/carers,

Thank you so much to everyone who made and bought cakes at our last bake sale! We are having another bake sale this Friday to raise more funds to renovate our rocking horses. Please bring any cakes/cookies/baked goodies to the office on Friday morning and thank you in advance.

We were in the newspaper! Our fantastic rocking horse story was featured in York Press last week and we have been lucky to have some lovely ex-pupils drop into school offering kind donations towards the project.

However, we are still quite a way off our target. To succeed, we are going to need support from the entire Fishergate community to spread the word and get people talking about the fundraiser. If you haven’t already, make sure to watch the INCREDIBLE video we made on our GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/d4bb4471

If you are on social media, please consider sharing the above link on Facebook, Twitter or any other sites. Sharing directly with friends and family through Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp is the best way to spread the word and get people talking about the project.

Let’s do what we do best at Fishergate and work together to do something incredible!

Many thanksThe children of Operation Fishergate Rocking Horse (:
