Young Voices 2019 Photos!
Fishergate Choir had another great day at Manchester Arena for Young Voices 2019! The day was long but very enjoyable and we all got to see the amazing Beau Dermott, Tony Hadley and Sharlene Hector (of Basement Jaxx fame) perform.
We spent the afternoon rehearsing… …and then the big performance was at 7pm. We had lots of favourite songs including Coldplay’s ‘Viva la Vida’, the ‘Moana Mashup’ and of course the ‘Pop Medley’. The song we particularly enjoyed was a medley of songs from the Greatest Showman that we got to sing with all the soloists, including Tony Hadley. There was even a message from Hugh Jackman wishing us all luck! A highlight of the evening was seeing the dance group ‘Urban Strides’ perform, they were amazing and really had some great moves! Our parents even got to ‘do their thing’ when they danced to a number of great songs, we loved watching them and dancing the night away ourselves. Finding our coach at the end of the evening, along with 6000 other children, is always a task in itself, but we did it! The journey to and from Manchester was smooth and we are really thankful to York Pullman for providing another great coach driver and service on the day.News, School Council

Choir News
Well done to all of our fantastic choir members – and a massive thank you to the staff and volunteers who helped to make our Young Voices trip such a success!
We will be taking a short break from practising to give everyone a chance to recover so there will be no more choir sessions now until after the half term break, but we look forward to seeing (and hearing!) you all after the holiday.

Slight change to the lunchtime menu
The lunchtime staff had noticed a lot of waste when Battered Fish was on the menu so we have carried out a little survey in school over the last few weeks and decided to change the menu slightly. The change only affects Week one. on Friday the option will be MSC Salmon or White Fish fingers not MSC Battered fish.
Two more slight changes – we will be serving rice, not noodles, on Thursday of week one and Pasta Bolognese in place of Spaghetti Bolognese on Thursday of week three. Please see the menu below – click the image to download a larger .pdf version.
