May the Fourth be With You…

…Star Wars Charity Marathon Day is back!

On May 4th all pupils will be asked to come into school dressed in PE clothes (or sportswear) and trainers… ready to run. This year we will be raising money for the British Red Cross and we ask that all donations are made via this JUST GIVING LINK.

The Red Cross are doing vital work and providing essential supplies to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine and the school council would like for us to support this effort.

Throughout the day classes will go out onto the school field to run a mile with Mrs Clarke. This year we would like to invite parents, carers, family members and friends to come along and support their child’s class or even to run with them!

Salvation Army Christmas Gift Appeal 2021

Every year the Salvation Army collect gifts for children and teenagers who receive very little at Christmas – and this year they need our help more than ever. Last year, they distributed toys and gifts to hundreds of children from York and the surrounding area – and our school donated over 100 toys towards this appeal.

If you would like to donate any new gifts, for children aged 0-17, please pass them to your child to bring into school between now and Thursday 9th December.

The Salvation Army will come and collect any donated gifts and give them to local children and teenagers who need them the most.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL GIFTS NEED TO BE NEW AND UNWRAPPED.

We do appreciate what a tough year this has again been for a lot of us, so any support for this charity appeal would be much appreciated. We do hope that you feel able to contribute a gift for this valuable cause.

Thank you

Strong with these runners the force is…

A huge thank you for all your support with this year’s Star Wars Marathon Day. All runners were amazing and ran their miles with Mrs Clarke throughout the day. Well done to Mrs Clarke for running all those miles and to Caz for joining her (at a social distance of course!) to run some miles as well.

Thank you for all your donations. The total raised for Mental Health UK stands at ÂŁ1160! AMAZING!

Much appreciated, your support is….to next year here is!

May the fourth be with you….

On Tuesday 4th May the whole school will be taking part in a covid-safe marathon day to raise money for Mental Health UK. This charity provides mental health information, advice and support to people of all ages and it needs our fundraising support more than ever. A Fishergate staff family member, Mark Waters, is involved in raising money for this charity and has asked for our help.

All donations this year can be made via the Just Giving website:

Please donate what you can.

On 4th May all pupils can come into school dressed in running clothes and trainers- ready to run! During the day each class will join Mrs Clarke on the school field to run a mile with her. Each pupil will be awarded with a medal for their efforts.  Please note that this year the medals are a bit unusual- just remind your child to look on the back of the medal as well 🙂

Thank you so much for all your support. A slightly different marathon day this year…but at least we are running!
