Investigating Habitats
As part of our Summer topic, ‘Living Things’ we had fun over at the cemetery finding and investigating different habitats. The highlight by far, as voted by the children, was the pond dipping. We found and used some classification keys and pictures to label loads of amazing pond creatures!

Solar Eclipse
All the children at Fishergate enjoyed experiencing the solar eclipse with the youngest watching safely online. It was a memorable event with unexpected clear skies!

Ramp Runners
On Wednesday 6th May, all Year 3/4 children had a fantastic time taking part in a STEM Challenge. The team from Fulford School came down for the afternoon to introduce and support the children in completing STEM Challenge 7 – Ramp Runners. The challenge was to make a car powered by an elastic band that would travel up the ramp the furthest! Challenging but possible!

Ice Cream Challenge March 2015
As part of science week, the Stem Challenge Team from Fulford School, were invited and set KS1 the challenge of making ice-cream! The children used ice, salt, cream and some strange ingredients to make savoury ice-cream! Then the teachers had to sample the finished product!
As you can see from the photos, this was not a pleasant experience!

Solar Eclipse
On Friday 20th March, the whole of the UK will be treated to a partial eclipse of the sun at approximately 9:30am. As part of science week, we will be learning about this in school and finding safe ways to view this amazing event.
