We love harvesting the produce from the allotment!
This week Y3/4 children from Miss Teale and Mrs Ekers’ class went to Willow House as part of the Musical Connections project which facilitates interactive music sessions in residential homes for the elderly and those who suffer with dementia. We all took part in singing carols, parachute games and even some festive dancing! It was heart-warming to see the smiles on the faces of both the children and residents and the happiness they brought just by being there. The children were fantastic and made us all really proud with their impeccable behaviour and friendliness with the residents. They have all made at least one new friend from the older generation! Thank you children!
We are looking forward to future ventures with Musical Connections and Willow House after Christmas.
In September, a Year 3/4 class studied Japan as their global country. The children had great fun experiencing the Japanese culture with the help of special visitors.
The children took part in a traditional tea ceremony; dressed in kimonos; learnt the art of paper folding-origami; made sushi; took part in a karate lesson and enjoyed many more aspects of this culture.
