In April the Champions of Change team entered a competition open to all York primary schools. They had to come up with a school project which would enhance the learning of all pupils in school. This is an annual competition organised by the Rotary Club of York Vikings.
The Champions of Change group idea was to provide an information stand for use by pupils. The stand would have a variety of leaflets containing information and advice about topics including safety, bullying and first aid. The leaflets will be written by pupils for pupils to use.
The results of the competition have been announced and the Champions of Change group at Fishergate Primary School came in 2nd place winning a fantastic £500 (as well as 24 dictionaries and 24 memory sticks for the school).
The information stand will begin to take shape in the Autumn term. So a massive congratulations to the champions of change team…..George, Jess, Lucas, Ellie, Tamaris, Cleo, Mila, Harrison, Amelia and Alfie. Well done!!
Thank you to the Rotary Club of Vikings. They will be presenting the cheque to the Champions of Change team in September.
