The Champions of Change group are organising a reversed charity advent calendar. The idea behind this is that instead of getting things for ourselves, we get things ti help charity and we will be supporting The Salvation Army, Carecent and Save the Children.
This appeal is for children in our local community who recieve very little at Christmas. We are asking for NEW and UNWRAPPED presents for boys and girls aged between 0 and 17 years to be brought to school. The Salvation Army will collect all the gifts on the 8th December then wrap and distribute them to local children in time for Christmas. Last time we donated over 90 presents – let’s hope we can do the same again this year!
Carecent is a local charity that provides breakfasts and support to homeless and vulnerable people in our community. During the winter months keeping warm is essential for homeless people and Carecent have asked if we can donate adult sized HATS, GLOVES AND SOCKS. These do not need to be new but do need to be in good condition. All donations will be collected on Thursday 14th December. No food donations are needed at this time.
To end our reversed charity advent calendar we are asking all pupils to come into school with a Christmas jumper or anything Christmassy! Please donate £1 to support the Save the Children charity. The money raised will help this charity give the world’s forgotten children a brighter future.
We understand that Christmas is an expensive time of year but we are hoping that you can support our three charities.
Thank you and a Merry Christmas!
