Last week saw the Fishergate Year 3/4 Tri-Golf team compete in the York Area Finals at York Golf Club in Strensall. The competition saw children take part in 8 different events to demonstrate their putting and chipping skills in an attempt to qualify for the North Yorkshire Youth Games Finals in July.

The inexperienced team put in a fantastic effort, and it was brilliant to see so many children who had never represented the school before taking part. Although the children didn’t quite manage to win through to the North Yorkshire finals they were an absolute credit to the school and put on a wonderful display of teamwork and sportsmanship.
