Thank you to everyone who brought in packets of cereal, tubes of toothpaste, roll on deodorants, tinned ham, tinned fish, tins and tins of tomatoes and beans, shampoos, showergels, bagfuls of clothes and many more valuable items for our local homeless charity Carecent. Every year I have a little panic that people will forget to donate or will not be able to, but every year I am amazed at the huge amount of donations we receive. This is to say a heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of you.
This year we had even more donations than before. Nicky from Carecent came with her husband and filled 2 cars with our donations to take back to the Carecent charity. A charity which means so much to the vulnerable people in our community. Once again Fishergate has shown that we care about others and once again we have proven to be one of Carecent’s greatest supporters.
An extra thank you to Leon, Will and Cleo for helping to sort the donations on Friday and to Charlie and Ann who filled the cars with our donations on Monday.
On a recent trip to the centre, myself, Lisa S and Ann C chatted to a former homeless customer of Carecent. He wanted us to pass on his thanks to all the children at Fishergate for their support and donations because, he said, without you Carecent wouldn’t be able to carry on. So thank you.
