We were thrilled to welcome Ben Rich (Dad of Hannah and Aaron) into to school, to help us to learn all about the Jewish Festival of Passover.
Ben talked to us about the story of Passover, and explained why it is important to Jewish people. We learned about the symbolism of the different foods that are eaten, and that it is a festival of freedom, because the children ask questions during the meal, symbolising our freedom to learn and ask questions in our everyday lives.
We tasted some different foods that are eaten during the celebration including Matzos and also some herbs dipped in salt water ,and learnt about their significance. Some people were brave enough to taste the horseradish. It was very hot!
We ended with a fun game where we had to hunt for the missing half of a Matzo.
Thank you Ben for a great learning experience!
